IMAX Projection Engineer
Part Time
Responsible for running film, tape and discs through the Science Center theatre's multi-million dollar projection and sound equipment on an hourly basis, and for correct synchronization of picture with sound, providing patrons with flawless presentations that are continuously monitored.

Must report to work in a timely manner and maintain a strict time schedule. Assist service representatives in maintenance of projection and auxiliary equipment and system upgrades. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency repairs, including film splicing, to keep all systems in working condition. Communicate with staff to ensure smooth operation. Assist in keeping materials and supplies in stock. Set up, test and operate equipment for lectures and special events and provide complete audiovisual support for programs including rehearsals. Familiarize guests with capabilities of the theatre and related equipment. Responsible for theatre and booth evacuation in case of emergency. Enter and maintain data. Conduct thorough cleaning, testing and general maintenance of projection booth equipment. Provide exemplary customer service and work as a team with all Science Center staff and volunteers. Maintain film prints and audio tracks, both magnetic and digital. Assist IMAX floor staff, including breaks and filling shifts, when necessary. Inform appropriate staff of problems that may affect performance or safety.

Maintain flexibility to work days, nights and weekends, as well as holidays. Maintain a professional appearance. Must be a high school graduate or equivalent, with 1-2 years post-high school education preferred. Minimum of two years professional experience in audiovisual, mechanical or electrical technologies.

Visitor Services Representative
Part Time
Visitor Services Representatives are the first contact our visitors have at the Louisville Science Center. A friendly demeanor and glowing attitude are a must.

Successful candidates will have prior retail cash handling and customer service experience. Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time. Must be able to work 20-30 hours per week and be regularly scheduled on a shift requiring weekend, weekday and/or evening hours.

The Louisville Science Center is open every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Derby Day.
