Just Announced - 2012-2013 Pulse of Surgery Dates

Back for its third year, this state-of-the-art program that brings students at the Science Center into the operating room at Jewish Hospital via videoconference. During real-time heart surgery, students will interact with the surgeon, nursing staff, perfusionists, and others while learning about the procedure, the tools used, and the techniques that must be mastered in order to perform a successful open-heart surgery. Program includes pre- and post-visit curriculum guides.

FREE! Science Fair 101 Professional Development Workshop
June 23, 2012, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
This 3-hour workshop will introduce middle and high school teachers to the benefits of participating in the Louisville Regional Science Fair.  Teachers will understand the basics of the science fair schedule and process, the benefits for both teachers and students, and the tools needed to produce a science fair program at their school.  This workshop includes a panel discussion with experienced science fair teachers and a working session to strategize ways to get students involved.  Workshop takes place at the Louisville Science Center, 727 West Main Street, Louisville, KY, 40202.  Call 502-561-6100, ext.6575 or to register.

Research!Louisville at the Science Center serves as the Middle & High School arm of the region-wide event to laud and promote the latest research going on in our community. Students that attend this conference-style event will participate in speaker sessions with area researchers and hands-on science activities. This event is FREE for classes with an approved application. Applications are due by August 24, 2012.
