Measure your own heart rate at rest and after brief exercise.

    • Split and Double Split (grades 7-12)
Explore the differences between meiosis and mitosis using a hands-on activity. Observe the differences between typical and atypical karyotypes.

    • Name That Type (grades 6-12)
You can type simulated blood samples and learn the science behind the procedure. Build models to see what happens during an incompatible blood transfusion.

    • DNA Construction Zone
      Level 1 (grades 7-8)

    • DNA Construction Zone
      Level 2
      (grades 9-12)
Learn the basics of DNA structure, transcription and translation by building a DNA strand, its mRNA and the polypeptide it codes by using unique "building materials."

    • Go With the Flow (grades 6-12)
Explore a dissected sheep heart to learn how blood flows
      through the heart and lungs.

    • NeuroLab (grades 4-12)

      PRACTICAL LIVING

    • Transmission Tracker (grades preK-12)
Investigate how epidemics are spread and learn how to protect yourself. Lab content will be adjusted for age appropriateness.

    • Work It Out! (grades 4-8)
Use the components of fitness and the principles of Frequency, Intensity, Time & Type (FITT) to explore your personal cardiovascular health and physical activity levels.

    • Protect Yourself (grades 4-12)
Test and expand your knowledge of STDs and HIV. Learn about methods of transmission, symptoms and treatment. Older students will discuss methods of "safer" sex and ways to keep themselves safe. Abstinence is stressed. Lab content will be adjusted for age appropriateness.

    • Gasping for Air (grades 6-12)
Explore the differences between the lungs of smokers and non-smokers and learn about the effects of smoking.
