Live fish, including stingrays and a tetra fish community, are among the stars of the temporary exhibit Amazon Voyage: Vicious Fishes and Other Riches.
Designed for everyone, the exhibit takes you on a boat journey to seven ports of call among the most biologically diverse river in the world, the Amazon. Reach into the belly of a giant catfish and find out what it’s been eating and even get shocked by the charge of an electric eel! Also, get an amazing underwater view of live stingrays and tetra fish while learning about the great diversity of species that call the Amazon home.

With over 3,000 species of fish, the Amazon River boasts more fish species than any other river in the world. This includes 1,200 species of catfish, which range from as big as a bear to as small as an ant.
Amazon Voyage: Vicious Fishes and Other Riches is presented in both English and Spanish. The exhibit is open through May 2009. Admission to the exhibit is included with
regular exhibit admission to the Louisville Science Center.
Amazon Voyage: Vicious Fishes and Other Riches was produced by the Miami Museum of Science and Planetarium. Artwork by Ray Troll. The exhibit was made possible with support from the National Science Foundation.
