The Louisville Science Center is pleased to honor the following two individuals who, through their dedication, have paved the way for a new wave of a scientifically literate community.
Jody Clasey, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion, University of Kentucky - for her dedication to science education and commitment to improving the lives of Kentucky’s youth through her work around prevention and intervention strategies related to childhood obesity. Her efforts are critical in redirecting and enhancing healthy lifestyle behaviors among so many throughout Kentucky. She is a recipient of the UK Great Teacher Award and is a featured scientist in the Science Center’s health and life science exhibit gallery.
Kris Kimel, President, Kentucky Science and Technology Corporation – for his role as President and founder of Kentucky Science and Technology Corporation; founder of Idea Festival; and his creation of Kentucky Space, which is on the leading edge of high altitude research, space education and emerging fields like exomedicine. His entrepreneurial spirit and passion for science and innovation is evident in his daily attitude and is expressed in everything he does.
