Lecture
Dr. John R. Hutchinson is an evolutionary biomechanist and a world expert on the anatomy and locomotion of dinosaurs like Tyrannosaurus rex as well as other large animals, living and extinct. He will present examples from his research on how a variety of scientific techniques have helped us to reconstruct how T. rex might have stood and moved, and how it probably did not move. He will tie in examples from his work on living animals including elephants, rhinoceroses, ostriches and crocodiles. Hutchinson consulted on the design of the Be the Dinosaur exhibit.
