The Light Before Christmas IMAX Film
November 13, 2010 - January 2, 2011

After losing their way on a cold, blustery Christmas Eve, two children find themselves as characters in the classic tale “The Night Before Christmas,” as they experience the wonder and delight of Santa visiting their home.

This stunning stop-motion animated film features lavishly detailed sets and characters inspired by the fascinating designs of renowned artist James C. Christensen with a musical score of beloved Christmas classics. Before the closing credits, enjoy a tour through the film workshop where The Light Before Christmas was made.

Holiday Help Day Mini-Camp
Sunday, December 12, 1-5 p.m.
Take some time to tackle your to-do list, complete your last-minute shopping, or bake your famous cookies while your little scientists concoct, engineer, and
experiment.

Winter Wonders (Grades K-1): Explore some of our favorite “chilly” experiments. Purchase your mini-camp online!
Castles and Catapults (Grades 2-3): Investigate engineering and architecture as we build marshmallow bridges, Lego Castles and make our own catapults! Purchase your mini-camp online!
Matter of Fact (Grades 4-6): Discover the science of chemical concoctions and rockin’ reactions. Purchase your mini-camp online!

School's Out Science Camps
December 20-23 and December 27-30, 2010
When school is out, science camp is in!

Camps are offered for grades K-6. Each day of camp includes four hours of workshops and two extracurricular activities. The camps are full-day camps, with drop-off from 8 to 9 a.m. Camp activities last from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pick-up is between 4 and 5 p.m. Please make sure your camper has a sack lunch and snack each day. More details will be included in your registration packet.

FREE Members-Only Family Science Night

Tuesday, December 21, 5-8 p.m.

As a special thank you to our loyal members, we invite you to join us for a member appreciation Family Science Night. You will enjoy free “after hours” access to the Science Center’s exhibit galleries including Sesame Street Presents: The Body. Participate in activities exploring the secrets of staying warm whether you are a polar bear looking for a snack or on a sled anxiously awaiting your turn down the hill. Great prizes, including free membership renewals and passes to local attractions, will be given away!

Exhibit access and activities are FREE. IMAX tickets are only $3 and may be purchased in advance by calling 502-561-6100, ext. 6111. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the event but quantities may be limited. The Light Before Christmas plays at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Shackleton’s Antarctic Adventure plays at 6:30 p.m.

FREE Noon Year’s Celebration

January 1 - 2, 2011, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Say farewell to 2010 and our latest exhibit, Sesame Street Presents: The Body, as we ring in the new year. We’ll create party hats using a mathematician’s
tools, build noisemakers and discover how sound is created, dance to family-friendly music and engineer balloons for a noon-time balloon drop to ring in
2011. Plus, enjoy these activities to get you and your family jump started on a happy, healthy new year! Design your own lunch bag to fill with healthy foods for school, make your own growth chart to take home, and learn how your body works harder doing physical activity. Elmo will make a special appearance (to welcome the new year), so don’t forget your camera!
