PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Early Childhood
"Doing science" comes naturally to young children. They are curious creatures who observe, investigate, and question everything. But they need guidance to understand what they discover. Our professional development workshops for early childhood educators give teachers fresh ideas for helping children ages 3 to 8 interpret the science of the world around them.

Our workshop, taught by a CHFS certified trainer, qualifies for six hours of professional development credit. Workshop activities adhere to the Kentucky Core Content for Assessment for kindergarten to 3 and Early Childhood Standards for 3- and 4-year olds. They are designed to translate later into hands-on activities for students. And, all materials used in the workshops are inexpensive and early obtained, so teachers can reproduce the activities in the classroom.

Early Childhood Professional Development dates:
November 12, January 28, February 25, March 25

Cost: $30 per person. To register, call the Early Childhood Education Coordinator at (502) 561-6100, ext. 6575 or (800) 591-2203 ext. 6575.
