11:00 a.m. Ice Balloons
Experiment with frozen water! Check out the properties of ice balloons and investigate the effects of adding salt and coloring. This is cool science!
11:30 a.m. Ship Building
Build a ship out of various floating materials and then test their abilities in our new water exhibit, Splash!. Race your boat down a two-lane track and see who can finish first!
12:00 p.m. Backpack Match Up – How much water do you use?
At home Americans use an average 100 gallons of water a day! Did you know that we use water to manufacture almost every product you see? Calculate the amount of water you use daily, and learn simple ways you can help conserve our water supply!
12 to 2 p.m. Small Smiles Dental Clinic
Enjoy an appearance by the Tooth Fair and toothbrush giveaways!
1:15 The Kapok Tree Story time
Come rest your feet and listen to a celebrated children’s story about the rainforest. Then act out the story in a hands-on activity that will really open your eyes!
2:00 p.m. Water Xylophone
Come and fill the Science Center with beautiful music. Experiment with pitch and sound using stemware glasses to compose a charming song.
2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Radio Disney
Radio Disney will provide activities and give away tickets to the new Jonas Brothers movie.
3:15 p.m. Follow That Drop
Where does water come from? What is the water cycle? How and why is our water filtered? Discover the answers as you filter a sample of dirty water using professional techniques.
4:00 p.m. Liquid layers
The challenge starts with three different cups of colored water and a graduated cylinder. Can you get a layer of blue liquid to sit on top of a layer of red liquid? The secret is density and a steady hand!
