Some animals hop instead of run, and others have fur but lay eggs. Its plants and animals have enlisted strange and clever strategies to ensure their survival. Experience a birds eye view of the Outback flit among the sand dunes and soar into its cloudless sky, look down on a dry textured landscape that extends across more than two-thirds of the continents 3 million square miles. Then witness it transformed by torrential rains into a flooded wetland, where tracts of sand become muddy rivers, and stagnant waterholes disappear in an endless sea.
