WYSci History and Partnership
The Whitney Young Scholars in Science (WYSci) Program is an informal approach to strengthening performance and interest in science, math, and technology among seventh grade students who are academically talented, but socioeconomically disadvantaged. The program was prototyped for three years and managed by the Louisville Science Center in partnership with the Lincoln Foundation. Funding is provided through the After School Centers for Exploration and New Discovery (ASCEND) program, developed by the National Science Foundation (NSF), Elementary Secondary and Informal Education (ESIE) Division.
