Science Center mummy undergoes medical tests at

The Louisville Science Center's Egyptian mummy was loaded onto an ambulance on June 14. The mummy was transported to Baptist Hospital East for a battery of tests during the early morning hours of June 15. Baptist Hospital East and Yellow Cab Ambulance Service generously donated their services.

Jael Roed, exhibit technician at the Louisville Science Center, worked to restore paint on the coffin of the Science Center's Egyptian mummy. Work is being done on the mummy to prepare it for permanent display next year in the Science Center's new natural and earth sciences exhibit THE WORLD AROUND US, set to open in June 2005. Visitors are welcome to watch the conservation work daily through Friday, June 25.

Kate Wight worked on cleaning the shroud of the Louisville Science Center's Egyptian mummy. Wight is an intern for conservator Mimi Leveque of ArchaeTechnica. Work is being done on the mummy to prepare it for permanent display next year in the Science Center's new natural and earth sciences exhibit THE WORLD AROUND US, set to open in June 2005. Visitors are welcome to watch the conservation work daily through Friday, June 25.
