Did you know that the Louisville Science Center is always looking for new volunteers? We need YOU to join the ranks of our wonderful volunteer staff. It is the volunteers that help to make many daily happenings at the Science Center possible.
Orientation sessions for new ADULT volunteers will be held in January 2006. Please call the Volunteer Office at 561-6100, ext. 6140 for an application and more information.
If you are interested in having fun, meeting new people, and helping out the Louisville Science Center, we welcome you to join our volunteer corps! Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age.
The next orientation session for TEEN volunteers will be in Spring 2006. All teens must call the Volunteer Office at 561-6100, ext. 6140 for an application.
As a Science Center volunteer, you will receive:
- Free parking
- 20% off purchases in the Gift Shop
- 15% off restaurant purchases while on duty
- Free admittance to Science Center exhibits and IMAX film previews
- Free admittance to a variety of social activities throughout the year
Volunteers can be found working in the Gift Shop, greeting school groups, hosting the information and exhibit pass booth and helping with special programs and events.
You might see them in THE WORLD WITHIN US answering questions or in KidZone doing science crafts. They also can also be found behind the scenes in Collections cataloging artifacts or stuffing envelopes in the Coffee Club.
Whatever it is our volunteers are doing, we appreciate them. The Science Center is grateful for the enthusiasm, talent, intellect and creativity of its volunteers. They help us to maintain and expand our exceptional programs.
