Volunteer Coordinator
Full Time

The Volunteer Coordinator assists the Manager of Volunteer Services in coordinating all volunteer activities in the Science Center. This includes keeping a daily schedule of volunteers working at the Science Center, sharing this information with the Staff, and handling the daily needs of the volunteers.

The Coordinator helps plan, organize and implement orientations, trainings and special volunteer events. Assists the Volunteer Manager with any task that comes under the heading of Volunteer Services.

Position Qualifications: Bachelor degree in Education, social services or related field; previous experience in volunteering, both as a volunteer and as a volunteer supervisor preferred. Will work Tuesday through Saturday.

IMAX Theatre Projectionist
Part Time

The IMAX® Projection Engineer is responsible for running film, tape and discs through the Science Center theatre's multi-million dollar projection and sound equipment on an hourly basis, and for correct synchronization of picture with sound in order to provide patrons with flawless presentations with continuous monitoring. Minimum high school graduate, (or equivalent) 1-2 years post high school education preferred, and a minimum of two years professional experience in audio-visual, mechanical or electrical technologies.

Gift Shop Sales Associate
Full Time

The Gift Shop Sales Associate is responsible for handling all phases of sales, store maintenance, and customer service.  The Gift Shop Sales Associate is responsible for preparation of daily sales report and for being knowledgeable of all Science Center activities, current and immediate future.  Incumbent must be able to stand for long periods of time, must have a neat appearance, must be able to lift, bend, and stretch, must be able to work well with all ages and be comfortable in crowded situations.  The incumbent must be honest, dependable and able to work independently after proper training and instruction.  Incumbent should also have good oral communication skills and possess a clear and pleasant speaking voice.

Customer Service Representative
Part Time

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for giving accurate information on the telephone and in personal contacts, and in entering accurate information into the Science Center 's computer system. This person must be sales/customer oriented. Incumbent should be experience in a professional office environment, including answering the phones and data entry. Sales and light clerical skills are desirable.

IMAX Theatre Representative
Part Time

The IMAX Theatre Representative ensures the safety of all theatre guests while maximizing their enjoyment of the IMAX® experience and providing exceptional service and assistance. The IMAX Theatre Representative also protects the property of the Louisville Science Center . Incumbent should have a high school graduate or its equivalency, a clear speaking voice, and prior experience in dealing with the general public.

Administrative Assistant, Exhibits Department
Full Time

The Administrative Assistant for the Exhibits Department provides general assistance and clerical support to the Director of Exhibits, and may assist other departments, if necessary. The position is primarily responsible for assisting in the preparation of grant proposals, copy for exhibit development, purchase orders, and correspondence. The Assistant also prepares detailed bid documents, "requests for proposals" and contracts for exhibit projects. Minimum professional secretarial training at the college or business school level. Minimum five years' experience in a professional office environment
