Director of Development
Full Time Incumbent is responsible for managing activities related to the analysis, planning, execution, control, and evaluation of annual fund raising, capital campaign/s, and designated communication activities related to fund raising. Depending on candidate's qualification, responsibilities may be expanding to include administration and management of marketing activities. Position Qualifications: degree in business, arts administration, public relations, marketing, advertising, or related field; minimum five years experience in fund raising on a scale consistent with the needs of the Louisville Science Center; and experience in a cultural, educational, or similar not-for-profit organization.
Exhibit Services Technician
Responsible for keeping all Louisville Science Center exhibits safe, clean, and in working order at all times. The Exhibit Technician duties include daily floor set-up and shutdown, daily maintenance and repair inspections, leading crews during the setup and removal of temporary exhibits, and special projects as assigned by the Exhibits Manager.
Position Qualifications: An associate degree or technical degree in an appropriate field of study or a minimum of 3 years experience in an electronic, mechanical, carpentry, exhibit fabrication or theater technician position. Must possess a valid driver's license and be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
IMAX Projection Engineer Part Time, weekends
Responsible for running film, tape and discs through the Science Center theatre's multi-million dollar projection and sound equipment on an hourly basis, and for correct synchronization of picture with sound in order to provide patrons with flawless presentations with continuous monitoring. Position Qualifications: Minimum high school graduate (or equivalent): 1-2 years post high school education preferred. Minimum of two years professional experience in audio-visual, mechanical or electrical technologies. Position qualifications: ability to stand on feet for long periods of time; neat in appearance ability to lift, bend, and stretch; and ability to work well with all ages and be comfortable in crowded situations. Must be honest, dependable and able to work independently after proper training and instruction. The Louisville Science Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
